it's icy, and cold
(late, too, for me
anyway.) i really
cannot believe it's
christmas eve!

spent some quality
time with the family
today (or yesterday;
either way, it sure was
exciting... a. had
outpatient surgery
and j. went into a
ditch!) playing scrabble
and watching television;

after all, what else is
there to do when hell
has frozen over outside?
(just so we're clear,
i love the midwest, and
i love winter. really.)

in approximately 14
hours, we will gather
and eat and enjoy
and celebrate, because,
well, it's just that
time of the year.

and i couldn't be happier.
