i.
labor day weekend.
...already? anyway.
early saturday evening, i hopped on the metra and went down to the city. d. and m. met me on fullerton--absolutely wonderful to see them! we got some beer, spent some time chilling at each of their lovely apartments, ate pizza, and watched some kickass videos (as per their going out routine, which i love. i'm SO glad to have these girls in my life!) eventually we made it to our destination for the evening: a party in lakeview.

what an entertaining, drunken night! there was a keg and beer pong--i watched but didn't play; i'm out of practice--and conversation and lots of overall goodness. later on in the evening, the photographer and his good friend j. made their way to the party (after having been on an intoxicated journey of their own) and more fun ensued. needless to say it was a very, very late night and i ended up stumbling up to rogers park with j. and the photographer for a few hours of restless sleep.

sunday... we woke up hungover. of course. had a bit of an adventure on the edens spur on the way home (but at least we know the brakes in the 740 work!) proceeded to take a three hour nap once we got home. later i got called into work 'cause it was crazy busy and stayed late. yesterday, the holiday itself, we met up with my parents for lunch in crystal lake. delicious! also so great to see them, as always. i worked from 4-11 and while i was kind of overwhelmed, all in all, it was a good night.

i remember the labor day weekends of previous years fondly, and this one certainly didn't disappoint! once again i'm amazed at the quick passage of time... is it really already the seventh day of september? i'm excited for autumn, though; it's starting to get chilly and soon the foliage will turn. so pumped for cider and burning leaves and hoodie weather. we're entering my favorite part of the year, how could i not look forward to it? i'm going to enjoy it and embrace it (as well as the eventual transition to winter) as much as i can.

for good measure: a photo from sunday morning,
somewhere around 4 am. (thanks, j.!)

i miss you already, chicago.
can't wait to come back soon!
