i've been a little quiet around these parts lately. it's not for lack of things to write about... quite the opposite. i've been BUSY. busy working, busy planning for our future, busy writing some side projects and busy living. it's been a great summer--ranks up there with the summer of 06, if i do say so myself--and i can't believe it's already august.

chicago certainly packs a lot of punch in these few months of summer... before an autumn that is always WAY too short and the famous chicago winter (though i'm sure you've heard there are really only two seasons in chicago... winter and construction season. ba-dum-ching). it's good, this life... better than i thought possible.

because i have a job i adore, a husband i fall more in love with every second of every day, and a family that has grown over the summer and strengthened, too. i know i probably say this all the time but i just feel really lucky. i must have done something spectacular in a past life to have ended up with such a wonderful existence.

i can't wait to see what the next few months will bring.
