226)

Winter has finally arrived in Chicagoland.  It snowed the other day, although we did not get the beautiful winter wonderlands found to the west.  Luckily, with the solstice, the days are starting to get longer, just a little bit each day, and soon enough the sun will be setting at 8:30, not 4:30.  Soon enough.

I am looking forward to the prospect of a new year--2013.  It's hard to believe that it's already been almost a year since we went to Charleston, South Carolina for a New Year's celebration and expedition.  I'm still not sure what this year's events will bring (waiting to figure out work schedules and such) but I am sure it will be great, and memorable, as usual.

I'm hoping that 2013 will bring more writing, more adventures, more running.  2012 was a challenge at times, but I have to say, it was a pretty good year.  Here's to 2013 being even better!  So enjoy this time with your family and friends.  Eat good food, drink great beverages, and savor the moments that this season brings--we will certainly be doing the same on our end.

Now, if only it would snow...
